What Are Wax Melts

What are wax melts?

It's not just candles that make your home smell beautiful...wax melts give off such a strong aroma, you may not go back to candles again!

Wax melts are highly scented pieces of wax that when heated/burned, they melt (but do not evaporate) and give off a strong scent to fill your home.

They are generally cheaper and stronger in fragrance than candles.

If you are new to wax burning, don't fret - we are here to help and answer any questions you have.

How to use

To start with, you'll need a wax burner, a tealight and some of our vegan friendly soy wax melts.

Pop a tealight in your burner and depending on the depth of the top of your burner, pop a chunk or two of wax in the top and light your tealight. We recommend using tealights that burn for 4 hours for safety reasons.

If you are using an electric burner, then pop in some wax and flick your burner on.

How to change your wax

Your pack of Ollie Coco wax should last 45 hours, you will know when it needs to be changed when you no longer smell the fragrance.

When the wax is hard, light a tealight to slightly melt the underneath of the wax.

After a few minutes, you can carefully slide the wax melt out of the top of your burner whole and wipe out the excess wax with a cotton pad

Or you can wait until its melted and carefully soak up the wax with cotton pads (be cautious not to spill, maybe have a bin to hand for the waxy pads).

Which wax melts should you use?

There are different wax melts available - usually paraffin or soy wax.

We use only soy which is the best quality and is vegan and environmentally friendly, plus it gives off the best scent throw so you don't get that 'plastic' smell when you are burning.
